Hi ,

on my Server IBm P275 runing AIX 5.1.0.0 have Problem with HP DDS 4 Tape devices.
The scsi Tape device will not be recongnised.
I have removed the Sw , reinstalled the scsi tape devices Sw and run cfmgr but Scsi Tape is not recognised.
I run Diag and follwing message apears:
The Service Request Number(s)/Probable Cause(s)
(causes are listed in descending order of probability):

2522-720: Adapter detected device bus failure.
Error log information:
Date: Fri Feb 17 16:40:35 NFT 2006
Sequence number: 433
Label: SCSI_ERR10
n/a FRU: 97P3359 U0.1-P1-I6

Does it mean the SCSI Bus is defect ?

Well, what happens when you disconnect the tapedrive from the BUS, does diag detect a failure then?

Also, perhaps your drive has a builtin SCSI terminator which is enabled (dip switch or jumper) and the bus is terminated in the IBM box itself? Check the docs that came with the drive on how to disable the terminator.
