Hello,

I've read about DDS4 and DDS3 backward compatibility, but still is not clear for me!

I know that I can read/write any DDS3 tape with a DDS4 drive, but can I share DDS3 between both tapes in both ways?

What I mean is, can I write to DDS3 tapes with the DDS4 drive and then read this tape on the DDS3 drive? Is it only a capacity difference or is there something more?

Thanks in advance,

It may depend upon your drive manufacturer. I've been able to to this with Sony drives but I can't say how other manufacturers handle it.
