Me again!

Can anyone suggest the correct path to have Non Dial in Answer POints and Dial In Trunks on the same Trunk Service Assigment?

I have an ISDN 30 / PRI which has a main number AND a set of DDI numbers which bare no simularity to each other.

Im assuming its DTS / Trunk select maybe?

Certainly when I try and enter a Non Dial in Answer Point and a Dial In Trunk Digi Mod into the same Trunk Service Assigment it moans about it.

Thanks

Tim

You certainly can't have DDI and non Dial in trunks in the same Trunk Service Assignment. What are you trying to achieve ultimately? Are you going to use DDI?

I have a main number which everyone uses, say 888500 which everyone knows and points to an auto attendent.

Then I have a range of DDIs which are say from 723001 to 723008 for some of the Extentions and/or hunt groups.

Thinking about it last night (in bed, yeah I know)

I assume that I set up a Speed call for the 888500 as well as the 723xxx numbers, making the speed call for 888500 point to 699 on the auto attendent and the 723xxx to where ever they need to go.

I dont need those users to be able to dial out on those DDIs, just receive them.

Am I in the direct direction? I cant try this again till tonight.

Which digits does the Telco actually send? Here is South Africa our number ranges look something like (yyy)xxx-zzzz. The telco here sends us zzzz. Certainly yes you look like your on the right track. You don't actually need to use the speedials. What does dialplan look like? 3 digits exts? If so then all you do is assign the auto attendant hunt group a dn of 500 and the rest of your extensions what ever the last 3 digits of your DDI is. This should work like a charm.

You don't need to use the "non dial in trunk" parameter in the trunk service assignment assuming your telco sends you digits.

Try this and let me know.

You will only recieve either DDI OR Non DDI calls on trunk. THis being the case, it sounds as though the number that looks like a Non DDI number will actually be sent as a DDI. If not, simply assign a different trunk service value to those trunks which the number is commin in on. If you are unsure you could contact your provider or run a CCS trace.

Let me know how you get on.
