God, I hate cc:Mail!

From Access I am using DDE commands to prepare and send email messages via cc:Mail. Of course, if the addressee does not exist in the directory, a message cannot be sent and the Access procedure crashes.

Does anyone know how I can test for the existence of the addressee and trap it BEFORE the procedure crashes?
