dd based cock-up how do I fix pls HELP!!!!!!!

I have two drives in my machine, hda, and sda.
the hda is the windows partition and sda linux.
I'v mistakenly types in dd if=boot.fs of=/dev/hda1
as opposed to /dev/fd0.

Now linux cannot read that drive. MSDOS fdisk just says unkown partition.
HOw to I fix.

Seems to be like if you completely screwed your Windows partition. Best you could do is probably to format it and reinstall.

I agree with Daniel, the partition is most likely toast and need to be reinstalled.
