I currently have a network with 10 PC connected using a 3 com Hub. I would like to be able to connect theses pc to Internet with a DSL connection.
I am planning to buy a Linksys DSL/Cable VPN router with firewall. My questions are as follows:

1 - Can I connect the 4 ports Linksys router to the hub on on side and to the DSL modem to the other. Does this will allow my 10 users to connect to the net?

2 - The router has a Firewall, do I need to buy also an anti virus software such as norton.

3 - Is there any other equipment needed.

Thanks for any precision because this is not absolutly clear to me.

The Router will support upto 253 machines behind it's built in NAT firewall.

A switch would be better than a hub.
(Better speed for the LAN)

A firewall provides NO protection against Virus'
(SO ANTI-VIRUS Software will be needed)

Linksys recommend that you use a firewall on each machine aswell as the Router's one.

Any other questions should be answered by the VERY extensive FAQ section at

Thanks.
Especially for the virus part. I always thought I need it, just need a confirmation.
