DCPROMO with Exchange installed

I currently run 2 Windows 2000 servers with Exchnage 2000 running on each. These are split using sites and services and i have Exchange running on both sites to house seperate mailboxes.

AD replication between these two server has stopped working. i have tried every solution under the sun to try and rebuild the AD replication but i think i will have to Uninstall AD and then reinstall.

My question is Can i run DCPROMO with exchange installed or will i have to uninstall exchange run a dcpromo to remove AD. then run DC promo to add AD and then reinstall Exchange?

you can dcpromo without uninstalling. However watch out for Exchange appearing to stop working if you lose the last GC in the site. Have another DC be a GC in the interim.
