DCPROMO - R2

Hi,

Our 2x DC's are currently running Windows Server 2003 standard edition.

We have one Windows Server 2003 R2 box which I wish to make a domain controller, it is currently a domain member.

Is there anything specific I need to do before running dcpromo on the R2 server? Also, will the 2003 standard DC's still act as DC's once the R2 has been promoted to DC, will there be any issues?

From what I remember you will need to run ADPREP off the R2 media on the server that holds the schema master role and then you can DCPROMO your other server. Take a look at this link
