I have a DCOM server running under MTS on a machine with direct access to the Internet. I am getting Permission Denied Error everytime I have the Client application connect to the server. I do NOT want any security on this object. I want ANYONE with my client application to be able to use my DCOM server.

Is This Possible???? And if so, how?

Thanks in advance...

Scott

Do you use DCOMCNFG utility to set up the security stuff?
Choose your object and change its security properties.

Yes I have. Even though I set the DCOMCNFG to allow ANYONE on the default tabs and the custom tabs, it tries to authenticate anyway.

It seems as though NT is requiring the client to authenticate regardless of how I have DCOM set up??

Maybe then client user must own a NT domain account.

Regards!

Use NT service insead of server - then you don't have to worry about accounts.

When you create your DCOM server using ATL COM AppWizard you can choose:
1) server (DLL)
2) server (EXE)
3) service (EXE)

So your service will be logged on as a system account.
