Hello all...Everytime I run backup I will always get a DCOM Error 10006, also it will say that the backup failed on the activity log of the backup exec, but when I check the files im trying to backup it seems to me that all the files are backed up and saved on the tape.

I have tried a lot of suggestions and none of them seems to work. This all started when I installed service pack 4 and all of the security patches. I am using Windows 2000 server and I have a DFS running on the domain controller. Does anyone encountered this problem on your network, if so how do you fix it. Any suggestions is highly appreciated, thanks in advance.

That sounds familiar; real familiar. In fact, "Distributed components object module (DCOM) Error 10006 is logged in the system event log when backing up a remote Windows 2000 system with VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows NT and Windows 2000.", it's TechNote ID: 238513 from Veritas support.

It's always worth checking with the vendor first.
