We are trying to package & deploy for DCOM.. & seem to be missing important links that our information just assumes us to have. That is CLIReg32.exe

Also missing is (ODKOB32.dll, RACREG32.dll.. but they are described as important for remote so how important those are to DCOM?? But the package still requests them.)

We have VB Professional version 6.. and Windows NT workstation.. Both seem to imply we should be able to do DCom, & have CLIREG32 because we have them..

We have been web surfing to try to find the missing links & are now somewhat knowledgeable about what they are & what they do, but not so about where we can get them.. Or why we don't have them as everyone assumes we do..

Thanks

Additional info based on other info we have pulled.

A book pointed out the if you are windows NT 4 or Windows98 you already have it.. But if you have Windows NT 3.51 and below you are out of luck..

But, we have windows NT 4.0 with all service packs up to version 6 on our systems.. (Does not state if this is Win NT workstation or servers..

If this info helps someone help us ..(I hope).

Same problem no answers. If you figure it out could you drop me a line. PLEASE!!! (rote23@yahoo.com)

I have looked through my VB 6.0 professional Install CD's and searched my win95 VB 5.0 and Win 2000 VB 6.0 machines to no avail. Microsoft seems to be pulling MSDN VB 6.0 and earlier Knowledge Base articles but that's just my opinion since I have been pulling less and less info on various searches since .Net and sometimes even see messages about the topic not being updated since .net.

I'm already tracing trough the included packaging and deployment source code and was trying to figure out what registry keys the clireg32.exe utility outputs but the input is just a meager command line.
