O.K. here is the deal. I have a DC that was incorrectly configured (example company.) not a FQDN, that in effect played havoc with my DNS and Active Directory. So I built a replacement DC with the correct configuration (company.com) this is an FQDN, when I run the ADMT to migrate users and computers it tells me it cannot contact the original domain of company. ? My question is does the new DC have to have a totally different domain name? Also, can I put the new DC on my network and force a replication of users and machine accounts? Or will this new DC try and take over my network? I thought we had it all worked out but to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dante
