I don't think anyone except those who met the same problem could help me with this problem. Even Microsoft senior enginner has been support me for one week and still not solved yet. But it will be highly appreciated if anyone could give me the experienced solutions.

My problem: PC client can't be added to Domain. DC server event log shows, NTDS replication error ID 2092 and 2088.
My structure: HP DL360 installed with WIN2003 standard R2 acts as main DC. HP DL380 installed with WIN2003 standard R2 acts as backup DC. I have isolated these two servers from other LANs and devices from the network, just put some clean WIN XP PC clients with these two servers in the LAN.

I have installed and reinstalled many times and can make sure there should be nothing wrong with my installing procedure. And I've tried installed the DNS either on main DC server or backup DC server or on both of them or on other servers. And also I've tried either install the update patch or not.

In addition. Despite event log show the NTDS error, PC clients can be added into Domain after the DC just finished installing. But as time gone by, the error appeared more and more, PC clients can't be added into Domain then.

I'm really tired on retrying to reinstall or analysis any more. This weird drave me exhausted...

Pleas help....

And also I've tried either install the update patch or not

What update patch is this??

Also we will require more info, please provide IP address configuration, DNS configuration info, FSMO role info (which server holds them)

The 360 is the DC and the 380 is the backup?

Can they ping each other by IP?

Is the DNS installed?
Where?

If yes, have you run ipconfig /registerdns on both servers, then on the workstations?

Will the 360 replicate to the 380 if you force it?

Does anyone have problems with login?

David.
