I am trying to upgrade 9.2 to 10.2 using dbua gui in AIX.

Iam running into this following error, a windows pops up with the following message

For Input string: ""

Upgrade Configuration file

'/oracle/product/10g/cfgtools/dbua/SID/upgrade0/upgrade.
xml' is not a valid XML file.

Anybody came across this above error?

Thanks,

We encountered this error while trying to install db using wrong version of OUI -- install/upgrade inventory files changed format (and suffix) somewhere between early 9i and late 9i (or 10g).

Thanks LKBrwnDBA,

Can you explain it how you can install db using wrong version of OUI?

Well, maybe if you have 9.2 home and start OUI from there instead of 10.2 home. [ponder]

All I remember is that the format of the installation inventory file changed between versions, and at that time we were installing the first versions of 10g (10.1.0.3) -- not -- converting from anything. The problem went away with version 10.2.

Good luck! [bigcheeks]
