Not familiar with this system.

Ports keep dying on me. New phone, cable pair the phone will work for 10 min then kill the port, move to another port and kills that one tried an exsiting phone and kills the port.

I never had a Panasonic with bad ports they usually come back up.

I tested the cable pair for a short and a ground.

I had Kxtd with solid short and/or grounds and after removing them would come back up.

Did I miss the subject line? DBS and KXTD are two different systems. A dead short on a DBS system usually defaults the port to something you don't have. Try looking at phone type in programming to see if that happened.

I'd isolate the house cables to see if something is happening outside the box.

I went back today all the non working ports had to be programmed to set type.

I do not understand the phone working for 10-15 minutes the first time I was on the phone and just died. Then moved it to another port and worked for a while then died and voltage last time nothing on the dead ports.

Then monitoring the port without any connections got dead air, today got the digital sound.

LOL When I first started working on DBS systems in the "We Sell For Less" discount store, it was not uncommon to short a pair as you punched the jumper down or an employee trying to "add a phone".

Some systems just have quirks. We used to have a system that had a Pico fuse that would blow if you screwed up. I used to have to carry a couple of packages of fuses in my tool kit.

Love those new systems that are very forgiving.

Exactly what happened on an Iwatsu Omega
MAC call I was volunteered I was doing" a quick move and change"and briefly crossed that data pair and did the same thing and then had to drive 30 miles to get a tiny replacement fuse thats why I am always leary of punching down on a hot system....

I always carried a bunch of 300 ma fuses when we where a Iwatsu dealer. Then came the ZTD with thermal fuses a blessing.
