Hi,

I am having some issues with this package. I have scheduled a job and when I checked in dba_jobs view, it was not displayed. I submitted the job again and now I can see two same jobs scheduled. I tried to remove one of them but cannot do it. Eventhough I get the message saying "PL/SQL procedure successfully completed, both the jobs are not getting removed.

Any help is really appreciated.

Hi there ,

I have used this package extensively , also from Oracle 7.3 to 9.2 , but never faced this problem.

To my surprise, I realised after reading your mail that, I always use to look in USER_JOBS. Looking for jobs, changing their schedule and also removing them. DBA_JOBS should not make such difference.

Try using user_jobs and make sure of your updations. When you see or remove or change a job make sure that you are using the ID of the job and that too correctly.

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. I am wondering why that difference comes in DBA_JOBS and USER_JOBS. I cannot see in USER_JOBS those jobs which I removed, but in DBA_JOBS it is displayed. Any clue???

Hi,

I got the answer. We need to have a commit after running the dbms_job.remove procedure.
