First off thanks for the help on my last post!

For some reason sendmail has never worked on this server. The backup program mails root after every backup process. I can login as root type mail –f it replies no mail.
If someone could point me in the right direction to trouble shoot this problem. I would be greatful!

Thanks
Jason

General mail setup....one of the biggest problems is no /etc/netsvc.conf file
or no hostname that is fully qualified...
or for alias.....merely running
newaliases or sendmail -bi command on that machine
also check permissions on The /etc/alias file
It should not be world writeable, change to rw-r--r--
if it isn't?

But these may help:

Info on aliases.... perhaps a bad entry in the files....
