hi!
I want to you to help me with some choices i have to make. I have an application that the user install in their computer (i say these because i want to consider that every user may have a diferent computer with diferent resource and programs installed), i first work with dbf tables, but i'm facing a lot of problems with memo files corrupted and bad indexes (from delphi point of view i work with ttables).
Because of these i decide to migrate all tables to another format, i think of access because allmost all users may have access installed in their computers. You have any suggestion, maybe i can choose another format less expensive in cost of rework to make in my application.
Another point of consideration is that all user export some tables, that later their data is imported in another computer, so, when i worked with dbf's i just pick the tables i need and saved them in a floppy or another drive. In access can i do this?

Thanks in advance,

Paula

The Access application can import tables from other Access databases. So while you can't simply pick up an Access table and carry it around, it's quite easy to copy Access tables from one database to another.

If you're going with Access, I also recommend using the ADO component set (TADOTable) to work with them. This also eliminates the need for the BDE. But the changeover from TTable to TADOTable may be too big a step. Have a good look at the differences before changing your program.
