I am migrating a database from one server to another. The old server is running IDS 9.4 and the new is running IDS 10. When attempting to run the dbexport on the old server that is running Red Hat 7.3 I got the following error:

File size limit exceeded. Please increase hard resource limit using ulimit.

Checking with ulimit -a I show the fsize limit as unlimited. I edited sqlhosts on the new server to point to the old server for the database instance and when running the export command from the new server to output the export on the new servers file system (ext3) I still receive this error. The new server is running Red Hat Enterprise linux 5.3 and uname -a also shows fsize as unlimited. I can run an unload on the table from the new server without issue but when attempting to unload the table from the old server I get the file size limit exceeded error. The unload of the table is approx 9gb's.

On the new server I went ahead and edited /etc/security/limits.conf and added the fsize unlimited argument for the user I am attempting to run the unload as (informix) but the result is the same. Here's the output ulimit -a:

informix@server $ ulimit -a
core file size (blocks, -c) 0
data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited
scheduling priority (-e) 0
file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
pending signals (-i) 163840
max locked memory (kbytes, -l) 32
max memory size (kbytes, -m) unlimited
open files (-n) 1024
pipe size (512 bytes, -p) 8
POSIX message queues (bytes, -q) 819200
real-time priority (-r) 0
stack size (kbytes, -s) 10240
cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited
max user processes (-u) 163840
virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited
file locks (-x) unlimited

Can anyone help me out?
