Hi
Just installed windows 2003 server on my new webserver and now im
trying to transfer my current website to the new webserver. Problem is
that i cant make the new site run any of my .dbw files. Ive done the
same application mapping that i did with my old 2000 server with no
prevail. When im calling the apps from a site i always get;
HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
Ive tried registering PLUSrun to handle .dbw-files but that didnt work
either.(didnt had much hope on that one but i had to try)

Any comments are appreciated as im new to IIS 6 and in need of a quick
solution.

thanks in advance

I've never had a 404 error that was anybodies fault but my own and in my limited experience, I've found that a 404 error means just that - the calling site can't see the files. So, go back to the basics and check the obvious: file permissions, hidden or restricted directories, correct path names and syntaxes. If the above appears OK, try pinging the site as well as doing a tracert.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

Do you use include files such as the following?
<!-- #include virtual="\template\template1.asp" -->

If you do use them, did you create those virtual directories (sort of like an alias name for a specific directory) on your new web server? I don't remember the details on how it's done, but here is a thread I contributed to about the subject in the ASP forum: thread333-663199

Which web server software are you using now and then? The same?

Like Tviman wrote, it was all my own fault.
What solved it was simply to enable all CGI-script.
Its not a good solution though, since that opens a big hole in the security, so the problem is only half-solved.

Thanks or your replies.
