I'd like to move data from a dBase database to one I'm more familiar with. I'm trying to understand the structure without having much support documentation. In the highest heirarchy I see dbf, ftp, cdx. Some dbf files I can link to through Access, some come back with "index not found". Next in the heirarchy are folders named "Workfile.001, Workfile.002", etc. Within these folders are dbf, dbt, mmo, ftp files. The naming of these files look like they correspond to order numbers in the system the company is using. However, when I link to any of these files I get "index not found".

Is Access the right program to link to these files? Any pointers on how I can understand this structure?

Thanks!

CDX looks like a foxpro index file.

I wonder whether these files were developed with Clipper by Computer Associates? There is a Computer Associates: Clipper board here...
