I have been running Visual dBase 5.7 on a network for years. The file server is running Windows 2000NT & in the past all W/S used Windows 98 or Millenium w/o printing problems.
We recently bought a new W/S that uses Windows XP. After removing a pseudo printer (FAX printer) from the printer folder, created when we installed Norton anti-virus software
we got the W/S to print our dBase programs.
However, the programs did not print out "correctly". The programs call for specific font types & sizes of fonts, plus
"bold" printing in a number of areas. Some areas printed correctly, but a number of other areas failed to print-out what we wanted, per our programs. It's as if a default setting took over in specific areas.
We copied the Window fonts we wanted, from the Windows font folder into the visual dBase BIN folder, & then identified the fonts we wanted in the DBASEWIN file on each W/S.
Why does the proper printing occur in the other two W/Ss but not the new XP W/S?
Where should the fonts reside in any event, when using Visual dBase 5.7? Are we putting them in the wrong location to print correctly? What are we missing?
