Hello ... quick question regarding the backup of Exchange 5.5
What is the difference between the "dbaexch\Information Store" and the "dbaxchg2"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The dbaexch is the part of the Exchange agent that takes care of the Exchange databases ( Directory / Information Store ) and transaction logs.
The dbaxchg2 handles brick-level backup and restore.

hi,

Information store backup - database level

The exchange databases are "dumped" onto tape.

dbaxchg2 - mailbox level backup
This is a granular backup. The mailboxes are backed up individually.
