DB_RUNRECOVERY

My MySql server crashed and the following message appeared in the Err File:

020801 10:02:28 Can't init databases
020801 10:02:28 bdb: txn_checkpoint: log failed at LSN [8 286683] DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
020801 10:02:28 bdb: PANIC: Bad file descriptor
020801 10:02:28 bdb: write: 0xaeb40c, 48: Bad file descriptor

How can I run a DB_RUNRECOVERY?.

MY OS is win98.

this look more like an os/hdd prob than mysql for me
