Hello,
I'm not a DB2 user, but Network Technician who currently supports 7.2 for our developers.

My question is this:
What is the functionality behind the DB2DARI.exe? The server that the DBS installation runs on is a powerful server but is currently running like a 3 legged donkey. Taskmanager shows 19 instances of the file running!!

Should there only be 1 of these processes running or does each instance launch upon every connection?? Are there well known memory leakage problems?

Any information would greatly assist.
Thanks
Stuart

Stuart,

your applications must contain stored procedures as the db2dari is invoked when a stored procedure is run. You may wish to read up on parameters such as MAXDARI and KEEPDARI.

MAXDARI set to -1 will allow as many as are needed to start. MAXDARI = 5, I think you can figure that one. With KEEPDARI the dari is loaded when needed and then effectively hangs around for re-use.

Effectively you will need to allow for the same amount of daris as connections to you application.

Cheers
Greg
