Hi All,

We just upgraded our data warehouse from DB2 v7.X to v8. Our run queue on a 6 way S80 used to hit 9 on really really busy days. This is the joy I have now:

Anybody else run into this. We had a time last week when the system was locked up for all intent and purpose. The run queue hit 110 once while I was watching. Thanks,

Larry

There are quite a few bugs in db2 v8. Make sure you have the latest fixpak installed (5). What level of AIX are you running?

Looks like you have a very active memory system there. Most of your CPU time may be spent in scanning/freeing pages. Do you have tprof installed?

run tprof -x sleep 60. Take a look at either sleep.prof or __prof.all (depending on AIX level) See what is using the most cpu.

Thanks for the reply Tim, is that Tim The Enchanter!

Our DB2 dude installed the latest fixpack so that is not it... I'll kick off a tprof and see what that yields...
