Hello, I'm a new technical user of DB2 UDB for AIX, I know only DB2 for ZOs and a few Unix.
Someone ask me to create and open an instance-database under AIX from an archive TAR.
I need help...
I use the Control Center Console.
May somebody friendly help me with a detailled list of commands.

Create
Copy Tar
Open
ect...

Thank you.

well, untar the thing and restore the database ...
prereq is that you have an instance of course.

for tar:
see the manula pages (>man tar) for all the options, there are some extracting samples below.
Should be something like tar -x ...

then try to restore the db using the GUI with this backup image. If it is an offline image, it should be one big object and no problem.
