db2 status

I am working on a Unicenter NSM to monitor status of the DB2 in an AS/400 box.

How do I know if the current status of the DB2 is up/running or down.

Is there a command utility that will tell me on the status of the DB2?

Or is there a trap/message that AS/400 generates whenever the DB2 is down?

If the AS400 box is turned on, the DB2 database is running.
