DB2 CONNECT QUESTION - ANYONE'S HELP IS REQUESTED 1

GOOD DAY EVERYONE!

I AM LOOKING TO CONNECT TO THE CE SERVER FROM A WORKSTATION. I NEED TO USE DB2 CONNECT TO ACCESS DB2 FILES FROM THE MAINFRAME (YES, WE STILL HAVE ONE). NOW THE QUESTION IS CAN THIS BE DONE WITHOUT HAVING THE CLIENT PORTION OF DB2 CONNECT ON THE DEVELOPERS WORKSTATION? THE LOGICAL CONNECTION MIGHT BE TO USE THE SERVERS DB2 CONNECT CONNECTIVITY VIA THE WORKSTATION.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE RELAY THEM.

If you are referring to the report developers workstation, where the reports are being created in Crystal Reports, then they have to have DB2 Connect on their workstation.

After the report is published in CE, anyone accessing it there will not need DB2 connect. The CE server will need DB2 Connect.
