I am moving our existing db2 setup from NT to Linux and version DB2 UDB 7.2. The original person who set this up used another communication port besides the default. I need to set the communication port from 50000 (default) to 50001. I found in the DB2 Control Center where the port is listed but I get an error when I attempt to change it. I am not sure of the error at this time (not at work). If it is needed I can post it tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Wes Hegge

Hi there
The port number is set in a file called services.

On NT is found \winnt\system32\drivers\etc

In there is a few other files you might find helpful.

The lines you want to change will look something like this :
db2cDB2 50000/tcp #connection port for the DB2 instance DB2
db2iDB2 50001/tcp #interrupt port for the DB2 instance DB2

Hope this helps
