Environment:
OS: LINUX AS 3
DB: DB2 V8?2
TSM: TSM5?3

Do necessary modification and compile USER EXIT, no error?LOGRETAIN and USEREXIT been set to ON. The question is when I query TSM, from archive pool, I do not see the DB2 LOG file whatever i am "runing backup db" or "archive log". TSM setup is correct, cause I can backup db2 to TSM?Try manually run "./db2uext2 -OSLinux -RLSQL08020 -RQARCHIVE -DBSAMPLE -NN0 -LP/db2log/NODE0000 -LNS0000003.LOG", seems no luck. No error reported and every LOG still sitting ACTIVE LOG DIRECTORY. Check the db2diag.log, there is no error. Anybody has idea why?

Thanks,Denny

Are there any errors reported in db2diag.log ?

On this page,

you will find a shell script which you may save as db2uext2 and issue the archive command ... This should let you confirm that DB2 is calling the userexit ... You may include the TSM command in the script to copy the log file to TSM.

BTW, if you are on DB2 8.2 why not set LOGARCHMETH1 parameter to USEREXIT and forget about the hassle of compiling the userexit ?

Sathyaram,

I read one article, it states that we can set logarchmeth1 to send log directly to a directory without using USEREXIT. But I am not sure how about the log retrieve. How it be handled? Cause using USEREXIT, it will handle archive&retrieve for you.

Thanks,
Denny

It works.
But still no idea why userexit does not work?

Denny

That's promising ;-)

For userexit doesn't work, I think it is likely to be some issue in your environment ...

That's the reason I suggested to use a korn-shell userexit to exclude 'DB2 does not call userexit' from the equation
