DB2 Administration V8.1

Hi there,

I am new to the Administration client let alone DB2, I have installed the DB2 admin V8.1 software on my Windows PC in order to get a feel of the software, I would like to connect to a DB2 database on our iSeries, I am having problems adding a new server into the Control Centre. Is there any administration software I need to install on the server???

Also, can some one explain to me what an instance's role is in DB2?....

Hi,
I am not very sure, but I think you may need DB2 connect product to connect to DB2 on OS400/S390.
