I have created windows 7 Pro machine with micros 3700 RES server. version 5.2 MR2 which I am going to replace the current server with.
I have backed up copy of the DB in ARCHIVE folder on my current micros server.
By using db -u C:\MICROS\Database\Data\Backup\Archive\MICROS_2016_11_13_03_39.MBZ5G2 COMMAND.
It gives me an error stating that "Cannot update a version 2877 database, on a version 3682 system."
what does this mean?
Please see attached.
thanks a lot.

I tried second time. This time I deleted "micros" Db file and TXT file from the database folder.
Now I am getting following error.
First it was saying "restoring passwords and encryption keys failed. key file not found. then it progressed further and then finally the error: The compatible collation: 125LATIN1 and the compatible charset: windows 1252> "Rebuild Failed!" Check the Micros DMrebuild.log for errors.

This point it has already upgraded the DB only the encryption keys that are failing, have you tried creating new keys using the encryption button, or re-run the res application and choose have DB instead of shell
