DB library or GDBM

An application I need to install requires DB library or GDBM installed. When I installed linux I said to install the entire distribution. I am not familiar with this library or what its names could be. I queried my installed rpms and don't see anything. Any ideas on these package installations. This is a live server that I don't want to compromise in any way so I want

I would have already done that if the application I'm installing had indicated it. All they said is you need DB library or GDBM.

then I would look for the newest libgdbm.

On my system, libgdbm.so.3.0.0 is installed, but I don't know who needs it.
Ruby and OpenOffice seem to have to do with it.

if you've just installed it, remember to 'ldconfig'
this may help in sorting out libraries and whatnot for newer
installed applications.

DB is probably Berkeley DB, and can be found at

http://www.sleepycat.com.
