Hi everyone. I am relatively new to Delphi programming. I need to create a database which will have approx 10 users and which will be able to store and play video files. I was thinking of using either db-Express and MySQL or Delphi and Interbase. I'm using Delphi 6 Enterprise. First of all are both of these options viable and secondly which option would you recommend. Excuse me if I'm a bit vague but I'm quite new to this! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

It kinda depends.

(btw, you can also use dbExpress with InterBase)

What do you need - for example, do you need Stored Procedures and Triggers - if so, MySQL is out...

Etc...

Hi thanks for the reply. As I'm a bit of a newbie, I'm not really sure what you mean by stored procedures and triggers! Could you explain? Much appreciated.

OK, I've just found the info at the MySQL website. I'll get back to you with my answer. Thanks anyway.
