I noticed that Microsoft does not have a patch out for the DST change for NT and 2000? It only has a registry key change included in the article KB928388.

Will the Resource kit utiliy 'timezone /s 02:0:2:03 02:0:1:11' accomplish the same goal as the registry change in KB928388? I'm getting ready to push this change out to my servers. I've tested it and it looks fine but I wanted to confirm this with the experts here!

I wonder why they didn't come out with patches for 2000?

Thanks for your help,
Mike Day

Windows 2000 patches are available to customers paying for Extended Support from Microsoft. Both NT4 and 2000 are out of mainstream support. The only patches Microsoft makes available for such servers for free are security patches. Non security updates are for paying customers only. In the case of NT4 customers need to have an Custom Support Agreement which is VERY costly.

Whether you use TZEDIT or script & registry changes makes no difference. They all accomplish the same goals.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
