I have just recently taken over responsibility for supporting our Groupwise 4.1a. About a week into my new role, I received a call from a user complaining about messages being time stamped one hour off. After investigating the problem, I discovered that GW had a Daylight Savings Time setting THAT HAD NEVER BEEN SET! I went out to Novell's Knowledgebase to find out what implecations would arise once I turn on DST.
I was warned about calendar appointments being shifted by one hour, but really couldn't find anything else to be wary of. Although, I am not as concerned about the affects on the calendar because out of about 1500 email users, there is probably less than 10 that use the calendar feature of Groupwise.
I am concerned, however, about the affects to other secondary domains in our environment. For instance, we have a secondary domain setup in GW to connect our hospital email to another hospital's email (they are also running GW 4.x). Now, if I turn on DST for that secondary domain in our email system, will it actually change the time stamp GW puts on the messages of the other hospital's email??
And, what will also be affected by switching on DST? Will old emails be adjusted by one hour, or will it only affect new incoming mail?
