All AIX servers running 4.3.3 ML10 set to EDT did not change time back an hour this past weekend. I did verify they are part of EDT - is there something I'm missing ?
Everyone else's servers change time automatically ?

cat the TZ variable in /etc/environment and see if there is a ',,' (double comma) at the end of it.

it reads the following on the servers:

TZ=EST5EDT,,

what should it read ?

see thread52-66450

This was a problem and has been fixed in an APAR, but I don't recall the numbers.

The commas get appended to the variable if the TZ is set using smit. However, you can change the TZ using the command line (e.g., chtz 'PST8PDT') and it doesn't put commas in the variable.

However, if you want to use smit then you need to apply the APAR.

ok, thanks, I've modified the /etc/environment manually and removed the commas. I'll find the APARs

thanks
