How can I make sure that DST patches for Windows 2000, XP, Server 2000 and 2003 has being synchronized by WSUS?

I also have a patch KB831167 for IE 6 SP 1 which is approved but a window popup on users computer to let them know that updates are ready to be installed. All other updates installed without any notification but for some reason this particular upadate is not getting installed. It's the case for only few PC's same update installed fine on other PC's. What's the fix for this?

I don't know if WSUS handles DST patches for Win2K3/XP, but there are no MS patches for Windows 2000, therefore I doubt WSUS will be deploying them for you.

Thanks for your help itsp1965 and porkchopexpress

How can I figure out that WSUS has synchronized DST patches for XP and 2003?

What is a work around in option A, change time manually?

To find if it's synchronized the patch go to the updates tab in the WSUS console and search for daylight saving, you should see Update for Windows server 2003 (KB931836) and Update for Windows XP (KB931836) listed.

The manual update is described in the link.

For 2000 pay for it or manually change the time on all PC, right? Is there any other option?
how much it cost for update for MS for 2000's PC?

They look like the only options and $4000 is what the article says.

Option 1: Manual update option

For some products in Extended Support, such as Windows 2000, Microsoft provides instructions about how to manually update the system by using Time Zone Editor and other techniques. Detailed instructions are documented in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 914387 and similar articles for countries outside the U.S. and Canada. You can also direct customers to view the on-demand Support WebCast describing the Windows 2000 update process at

Option 2: DST update

For customers who prefer to have a hotfix, Microsoft lets customers purchase all DST 2007 hotfixes for $4,000, for affected Microsoft products in Extended Support by using an Extended Hotfix Support contract. Customers will only be charged a single fee of $4,000 to obtain all hotfixes needed to update their systems for DST 2007.
