Well, most folks who recognize my Handle, will know that I am really a Legend/Magix kind of guy.

However, the other day, on the LEGEND/MAGIX FORUM, I made mention of the fact that the MAGIX has a software feature available that can handle the 2007 changes to the DAYLIGHT SAVING SCHEDULE, that will happen starting this March.

Up until this coming MARCH, our ADST Programming has been automatic, that gets clobbered when the new schedule takes affect.

But, as stated, MAGIX can handle it, IF WE DO PROGRAMMING AHEAD OF TIME.

PARTNER:

I know that some releases of the PARTNER have an ADST feature, but I also know, at this time it is somewhat CAST IN STONE, unlike the MAGIX.

So, I did some research and found out a few things.

Well, I can't get very specific, but I have it on GOOD AUTHORITY that some type of patch is going to be provided in the PARTNER WORLD as well.

I was unable to verify exactly which releases will be affected, or exactly how this will be done, but when I know specifics, I will post them here.

Trust me.

If I tell you a chicken dips snuff, just look under her wing, and you will find a can.

As I said, trust me.

Just wait and see.

When I know more, I will post it.

I hope Avaya does create that patch for the Partner ACS.

But, then again, Avaya has made a real mess out of the Partner ACS R7 processor. Can they be trusted to make a patch that loads the new ADST schedule but doesn't break something else? [ponder]

Since many Avaya Business Partners refuse to sell the R7 processor, anything that adversely affects the R6 has the potential to become a knock-out punch to the Partner platform and the Partner ACS would go the way of the Merlin Magix. [sadeyes]

It is my understanding that AVAYA has stepped up to the R7 issues.

They have recognized and taken steps to correct the production and quality problems, and I, for one, am certain that we can see those types of issues go away.

As far as the Daylight Saving schedule, it only makes sense, in a product still in production and marketing, with the ADST feature in place, that they would step up to the plate and correct any such on going product issues as well.

But my original post is not a guess.

Again, I say, trust me......
