Well, it's that time again. You know, that time that hits us all twice a year.

I just spent most of my afternoon changing TIMES in all of my Clients Voice Mails, and a few LEGEND Processors that I had remote access into.

However, I realized that starting in MARCH, we will have to visit all of our MAGIX PROCESSORS as well, due to changes in the DAY LIGHT SAVING LAW.

To quote a reliable source:

Date change in 2007

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to resume the 2005 Daylight Saving Time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.

THE SCHEDULE FOR THE NEXT FEW YEARS IS:

START END
2007 March 11 November 4
2008 March 9 November 2
2009 March 8 November 1

ALL OF THAT BEING SAID, Starting in MARCH, we will have to ALSO change the MAGIX Processors UNLESS we change their DEFAULT DAY LIGHT SAVING PROGRAMMING.

Well, Guess what, makeing that change is not all that hard to do.

Lucky us, we can plan ahead and make those systems change their time automatically as they do now.

Here's how:

Get to STANDARD SPM (or use the Programming Console)

So we go to:

Menu > Start > System > Time > ADST > Enable > Enter > Then Choose "CUSTOM" and Enter....

Now we have another decision, HEMISPHERE - MAKE A SELECTION,

Well, most of us are in the NORTHERN Hemisphere, so we will choose:

NORTHERN > Enter And now, this POWERFUL SYSTEM GIVES US THE CHOICE OF WHEN WE START & STOP Daylight Saving Time.

So, we choose START, and have the following selection:

START DAY, Make a Selection, of course we will choose:

SUNDAY > and ENTER > and then (Based on the above table) we will chose: SECOND & ENTER.

NEXT we select the MONTH, which in this case is: MARCH & ENTER, then the time, 02:00 of course, and ENTER,

And that brings us back to the START - END SCREEN.

So now, we press END, and select the day, SUNDAY (again) and ENTER, and again, based on the table above, we will choose:

FIRST & ENTER, and now the MONTH, which will be NOVEMBER & ENTER, and the TIME (again, 02:00) and ENTER, and then HOME or what ever 'cause now we are done.

I hope this helps,,,,,Have fun.......

Merlinman....

One word of Caution however.

You will want to check the time on any systems you set these parameters on prior to this weekend.

Sorry to bump this, but what about the older audix systems?? Do they sync time from the processor?

Audix is on its own clock, and the Merlin Mail systems.
