i just previewed the sites i am working on in netscape...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....sheesh man..everything is all screwed on both sites..on the promaintenance the left side html is twice the width as it should be..but everything else is fine..on my site the endangeredgraphics none of the sounds are working..you can't drag dragable windows..and there are gutters everywhere..what should be done while designing to make sure it's the same for all browsers..

Will have a look after supper with the lady!
Can you repost the links... Cleared my History file and don't have them anymore. Could search the forum, but I'm too lasy!
Catch ya later...

;-)

Carl,
First -> You left out BOTTOMMARGIN="0" RIGHTMARGIN="0" in frame.html as opposed to templet.html. As for sounds & drag, they work fine as in IE. BTW, you still havent't updated that movie... Double beeps on button clicks!

Second -> Netscape doesn't seem to like % in framesets. Trying something out for ya! Back later!

;-)

no it is updated..were you at f2s or mine?funny the sounds were not working nor was the drag..i will add the bottom and rightmargins..what do you mean netscape doesn't like framesets?

Was at F2s. Told you to re-post the links!
I said Netscape didn't seem to like % in framesets!
Check this with Netscape:

Pretty close! And please don't ask me why the scroll bar is longer that the main frame!

In other words try using something like this:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>....:::pro-maintenance4U.com:::....</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<frameset rows=&quot;18%,82%&quot; border=&quot;0&quot;>
<frame name=&quot;navigation&quot; src=&quot; scrolling=&quot;no&quot; border=&quot;0&quot;>
if ( navigator.appName == 'Netscape' ) {
<frameset cols=&quot;180,*&quot; border=&quot;0&quot;>
<frame name=&quot;addframe&quot; src=&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; scrolling=&quot;no&quot;>
<frame name=&quot;mainsite&quot; src=&quot; border=&quot;2&quot; scrolling=&quot;auto&quot;>
}
else{
<frameset cols=&quot;18%,*%&quot; border=&quot;0&quot;>}
<frame name=&quot;addframe&quot; src=&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; scrolling=&quot;no&quot;>
<frame name=&quot;mainsite&quot; src=&quot; border=&quot;2&quot; scrolling=&quot;auto&quot;>
</frameset>
</frameset>
</HTML>

You don't have to use full addresses, I had to because the files are not on my server!

Maybe playing around with the scale=exactfit in the <embed> tag (used by Netscape & not by IE), and/or setting the width & height in pixels in that <embed> tag only, would have had the same effect. Didn't try that, cause I need access to each of your other frame htmls... And I'm lazy!

Also didn't change the rows' frameset (in the same way, i.e. using pixel size rather than %) since that frameset didn't seem to be very different. You might have to resort to the same use in some other case!

Got the new link to first.html?

did you see the message board the way you have it now in netscape

No! Hadn't! Just did! See what you're saying! Thought that was Dave's problem! Do you really want me to look into this CGI thing? 'Cause that seems to be the problem... Everything else seems to be pretty similar!

What about that new link for first.html?

;-)

Ok Carl! Seems you gave up for the night! So will I!
In case you come back...
As I cannot update your guest.cgi myself try changing the following lines in your guest.cgi and upload it. It should solve your problem with IE... At least I think it will! Can't say if it will do the same with NS, 'cause for some reason, I can't test this cgi off-line with NS.

Change your 5th line(in red)with the green one:

<body background=&quot; bgcolor=&quot;#00A0A8&quot; text=&quot;#000000&quot; link=&quot;#0000FF&quot; vlink=&quot;#FF0000&quot; marginwidth=&quot;0&quot; marginheight=&quot;0&quot; topmargin=&quot;0&quot; bottommargin=&quot;0&quot; leftmargin=&quot;0&quot; rightmargin=&quot;0&quot;>
<body bgcolor=&quot;#00A0A8&quot; text=&quot;#000000&quot; link=&quot;#0000FF&quot; vlink=&quot;#FF0000&quot; marginwidth=&quot;0&quot; marginheight=&quot;0&quot; topmargin=&quot;0&quot; bottommargin=&quot;0&quot; leftmargin=&quot;0&quot; rightmargin=&quot;0&quot;>

...

Change your 7th line(in red)with the green one:

<table width=&quot;100%&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; cellspacing=&quot;0&quot; cellpadding=&quot;0&quot; height=&quot;100%&quot;>

<table width=&quot;88.5%&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; cellspacing=&quot;0&quot; cellpadding=&quot;0&quot; height=&quot;98.2%&quot;>

That is a new link Carl! Or at least for me!
Just add the rightmargin & bottommargin stuff in frame.html, and everything should be fine.
Sounds & drag work fine also bot in IE & NS.
Will check tomorrow!

Hope you don't have NS6.x!
That's the worst browser I've seen. Bugged to hell!
