ok guys i tried following the code dave used in that button but it just ain't working for me..but i know it is because i'm not understanding somethings..in this fla:

there are two movie clips, mc and control..................
i'm guessing that the movieclip that i have created called servclip would be the equivelent of davs mc clip...so i tried setting up my clip the same as his mc clip with the same actions(execpt for changing the actual tell target names)...so i did that..but the other clip "control" i wasn't quite sure where that one was placed..so i placed those actions on the main timeline frame 1...is that right or not..well obviously not because it didn't work..i pulled the servclip into the timeline where i wanted it to show up
but it did not..anyway to keep from sounding like a complete dumb*ss i removed all the actions from the fla and i am hoping either you or dav will take this fla and make the clip fade in and out for me by adding the correct actions in the correct place so i can see how it was properly done...sheesh..getting in to the big boy or girl stuff(recognizing patricia)now and needless to say i am getting a little flusterd..dav or old please show me how this would be done inside my fla, please...

The only reason I found that your links didn't work is the space after .swf I removed it and voila! there was your page. That is a cool looking effect you've got there. I also downloaded that button.fla and I'm lost now more than ever. LOL

now you're fla link ain't working Virt.

I'm having a guess that you haven't checked the movie-clip in which the text 'davdesign' resides, there's further actions in there (the /:back variables are set in there as the movie-clip plays).

Have a look at that and get get back to me if that was the problem. If it isn't can you e-mail the fla to me cos I ain't gettin the link above.

ok i see thank you..i'm working on that fla now and i decided to have a dragable window movie clip for each button, so that is what i am currently doing now..working my way through the tutorial..i am going to try to stop asking for such favors..and try to go through some tutorials
on my own via trial and error..i can't learn if i'm just copying code and not learning on my own..will post it when i'm done and see what you think..
