DAudit table size and other SQL optimization

First of all, a small poll :

* What is you DAudit table size ? as given by select count(*) from DAudit

Have you ever purged it or intended to purge it ?

2ndly, on a more general point of you, have you ever made some SQL changes on your Livelink repository such as adding indexes ...
which ones ?

Daudit stores some data on events that you are auditing - as defined on the Admin.Index pages - so you could reduce the number of events that you are tracking.

It can be purged or reduced in size if you are happy to lose the Auditing data.

As for the second question, I've made many changes to the Livelink DB to enhance performance for some customers in specific usage patterns.

- I know about the admin pages, yet our customer request even some more logging (such as those that are in the 9.5 ) around admin ops or groups modifications and so we cannot remove any

We are going to make a archive of the DAudit and purge it.

- I'll be interrested in some best practices around these kind of modifications and / or samples.
How to determine what to do ? regarding Oracle logs only ?

There is some stuff on the KC's Knowledge Base section for each DB Type, also get your DBA to do an audit of your system and they will be able to recommend which indexes etc you may need depending on your usage.

we used to rotate the daudit table start of every year.This year we are on dauditnew and is huge ...
We do not purge dats as we use it to give people lot of information,dauditnew is a new beast .You need to go and set the specific stuff .I am not sure what we are going to do about it but for every row change in kuaf it inserts a row.something like "you" changed the id form this to this and so on.I am using dirsvcs and every reset of hidden passord introduces at least twice the number of valid users in my system.I may end up writing something as its tands now I have I think close to 21 million in almost seven months of 9.5 sp1.I am not a oracle person but it looks like
ot is already providng a lot of indexes on it by defaultThere are sveral things I am not auditing like project memeber ship changes and stuff whic we may have to do someday.
