DateTime parameter not behaving

I have a report where I know the specific start datetime & end datetime for the data. I have built the report so that the default for both of these parameters is the most recent range. When I am in VS and preview the report all is well. When I change the datetime on either of the parameters to anything else on the list and hit 'view report' both datetime parameters go back to 'select a value'.

I have done a fair number of reports with parameters, but this is the first with date AND time in the parameters... anything similar that folks have experienced & how they got around it?

Thanks in advance - SQL & SSRS 2005

well - I think I know part of the answer - or at least I fixed it for now... I put the paramaters out there as a cast(begindate as varchar(20)) and then convert them back when I am pulling the data.

this seems to imply that because I told SSRS that the parameter was a dattime that it was using the calendar control and time confused it...

just a guess and would love to hear a good soultion other than my work around.
