Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using the datefield component from flash professional, and it works fine when I preview it from within flash, but doesn't work from the browser. I click on it any nothe happens. Any ideas? THanks

Beth

Make sure you are publishing it as Flash 7, Actionscript 2. The version 2 componenents require the Flash 7 player.

Hope it helps.

I'm doing both . . . this is the only component that has given me any troubles. I have been keeping all my components in a shared library (due to the size) so I thought that may be causing it, but I tried putting that one in the file itself and it still won't come up in the browser. Do I also need to include the Date Chooser component?

Thanks!

Beth

hmmmm is the date chooser in a movie loaded into another movie?

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

Yes. All of this is in a movie loaded into a scrollpane. Its not essential to the program that it works, it would just save the user a bit of typing and us a bit of date validation

:)

The parent movie library must contain the component (or a reference) to it as well. Is there a reference to the shared library in the parent movie?

There is now :) It still isn't coming up though. Still works fine in flash's preview, but not from any browser (in fact it crashed IE at one point!) I'm confused to as why this one would be causing issues though, I'm using all sorts of components ranging from textareas to accordion, and all work, execpt this one.

Even if I put a datefield in my top movie, the datefield will not work in any browsers, only in the flash preview :-(

Can you post your .fla?

thanks for all your help! I finally got it working yesterday. I'm not exactly sure what did it, but due to lots of tinkering around it now works. Thanks again!
