Date/Time to Text Conversions

I use a make-table query, linked to a live Fox Pro table, to create a static table. The problem is a date/time field converts to Text, and I would prefer it remain a date field. I am trying to run a query that compares two dates, but even when the fields are both set up as text, it appears the ":" in the text of the created table does not register correctly. If the two look exactly alike, they will not pull as a one-to-one relationship. Using Like queries also does not work. There is something very odd about the colon in the created field. Is there any way in a make-table query to force it to create the field as a date/time field?

It would be easier if you posted your make table query here, but can you use the CDATE function on the Fox Pro field to force the format to date? Terry M. Hoey
