Date-Time to Day

I am retrieving data using Cognos Impromptu that includes date-time fields. It is a rather large database. I am looking to calculate averages and trend based on day of week (i.e. average Monday). What is the easiest way to pull my report and convert the date-time fields to day?

You may have to create a crosstab report with Weeks and Years as the rows and have Days as the columns. The Cells would contain your averages.

Example below.

MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY ...
2003 Jan Data Data Data
Feb ...
Mar
...

You can use the date-time to date function that comes with Impromptu. If memory serves, there is also a day of the week function that can be used in a calculation to acheive the results that you are after.
