Hi -
We are in the middle of upgrading to Crystal 8.5 from 8.0. The ODBC driver in 8.0 reported dates correctly, but the same report in 8.5 does not. Dates come back as 'string' which is a big problem for us (our reports are broken and we can't even rewrite them.. :( Bad file is (I think) PS2ODBC.DLL. Has anyone else run into this issue? I checked the FAQ and did a bunch of searches but nada so far. Will post the fix whenever we get there.. I'm thinking I might try "Frankensteining" 8.5 with some old DLL's and see if I get away with it.. if there is a clean way to do this I'd love to hear about it! :)
Thanks for your consideration, and I hope I can help out on the boards..

found the error.. Crystal has a "DLL Friendly" install policy eg: when you upgrade, it will *not* replace any existing DLL's.. this is an issue as our firm has used Crystal since it was Core Software's WinQL4. We have mucho old DLL's floating about.. but getting the right DLL's in the right place makes all the difference.
What a concept. ;)
Hope this helps someone!
