I've recently started working with data-cubing / MS SQL Server Analysis Services - and have worked through some online examples and chapters from a tutorial book.
As such, I've had a good start.
I'm able to generate spreadsheets where I'm able to drill down on data in the resultant MS Excel spreadsheet...
Similarly I've been able to set some of the dimensions at the top of these spreadsheets such that when the user drops down the selection and selects a single product (for example) - only this relevant data is shown / summarised.
Not wanting to run before I can walk .... but ....
Am I able to have similar (page level?) selections whereby the user effectively selects something like a date range ?
So they'd pick a start and end date and only the data tha lay between these dates would be retrieved and analysed?
I've not got as far as MDX with the book chapters, etc. - but am unsure whether I'll be able to achieve something like this.
If anyone could enlighten me in the meantime I'd be grateful.
Thanks in advance.
Steve
